Experiencia fantástica: The wine tour of the Uco Valley with guide Ezekiel was absolutely amazing. The guide was friendly and extremely knowledgeable (note: the tour was in Spanish). We were a small group (5 people) and we stopped at three bodegas (Familia Zaina, Bianchi and Claroscuro). The lunch at the last bodega was delicious, it of course featured beef (tomahawks) for the non-vegetarians. I highly recommend this tour. It is a bit more expensive than others but worth every penny!

Experiencia positiva: I went to Mendoza in July 2024 and wanted to make sure I visited the region’s world-famous vineyards as someone who appreciates good wine. After some research, I landed on Trout and Wine Tours because of its excellent ratings. From the get-go, the communication was excellent and seamless, with the company promptly messaging me on WhatsApp with all the details of our excursion. On the day of our tour, our guide Victor and driver Walter picked us up at our bed and breakfast before picking up two more passengers. Victor and Walter were professional and easygoing and even shared a little bit about their own families’ histories in Argentina, which I really appreciated. Our group was small, but we went in the dead of winter so that was to be expected. It also helped that our fellow passengers were English speakers (from Canada and the U.S.), so communicating with them throughout the day was nice and extremely easy in a country where everyone doesn't speak English. We visited Alta Vista, Terrazas de los Andes, and Budegeur, with a stop at Norton for lunch in between. I loved the first two vineyards because the vineyard’s tour guides were extremely knowledgeable, providing in-depth insights into the winemaking process from grape cultivation to fermentation. Their expertise and passion made the tours both educational and engaging. After the first two vineyards, we stopped for lunch, which was pretty good but not amazing in my honest opinion. My favorite part about lunch were the stunning views of the mountains. At this point, everyone in the group was starting to feel the wine. As an experienced drinker, I was fine. I would also like to mention that in the beginning of the day, our tour guide Victor advised us to pace ourselves and stay hydrated by drinking plenty of water. Regardless, after sampling a few glasses of wine, some people are going to feel it. Finally, we stopped at Budegeur, which felt rushed and like an afterthought. Compared to the first two vineyards, this vineyard was underwhelming. I also found the guide at this vineyard to be pretentious and rude. He asked us each about our travel plans in Argentina and when I said “Puerto Madryn” in my bad Spanish accent, he made fun of my accent, which I found inappropriate (hey, at least I was trying). He left such a bad taste in my mouth that I made sure to tell him how rude he was on my way out lol. I don't put up with disrespect, especially when I'm paying premium prices on vacation. In all my years of traveling, I have never encountered someone so rude. Overall, I loved the tour, but the last vineyard and its guide put a damper on my trip. I would have ended the tour after lunch instead of rushing through it.

Experiencia fantástica: We have just spent 4 days with Ricardo from Trout and Wine in Mendoza. Ricardo is very knowledgeable about wine and wine making and the area of Mendoza, and was able to explain things very clearly. Apart from that, the selection of the locations we visited and the activities was brilliant. We drank fabulous wines, ate amazing food and saw some beautiful wineries and scenery. Well done to Trout and Wine, highly recommended. (Side note: they also guide fly fishing trips if that’s of interest!)

Experiencia fantástica: Best tour agency Mendoza! They are friendly, the main office is open/easily accessible from Independence Plaza, they communicated the evening prior & were prompt for pick ups. The shuttles were air conditioned & they provided bottles of water. The guides were knowledgeable & made sure we all had a great time!

Our tour guide, Paola, was wonderful and provided us with a lot of information about the region and the wineries we were visiting. All of the wineries were beautiful and the tastings were plenty and great. The gourmet lunch was amazing!! I can’t recommend this tour enough, we had a great time!

Experiencia negativa: We've been on many food and wine tours in the past, so we have some basis for this review. We did the Lujan de Cuyo tour. The itinerary was good; started at big winery (Norton) and went to three other wineries, including the third where we had a long lunch. Was the food good? Yes. Was the wine good? Yes. But our guide was completely removed and indifferent from our experience. She was either absent or looking at her phone the entire day. She was personable and pleasant, but not a guide in any way. Other than a bit of an into to the area on the way to Norton in the morning, we learned very little from her about the wineries and our itinerary over the day. We would not recommend Trout and Wine for a wine tour in Mendoza. Sorry.

Experiencia negativa: Horrível. Vende o que não tem. Reservei um passeio para a vinícola Catena Zapata e não honraram o preço. Simplesmente aumentaram de 370 usd para 600 usd. E a reserva foi feita há meses atrás! Pelo menos tiveram a decência de acatar o pedido de cancelamento. Não recomendo para ninguém. Tomem cuidado.

Experiencia fantástica: The Andes/Aconcagua tour had good views but it was really memorable because of Exequiel and Sebastian, along with the group I was in. They were knowledgeable and easy to talk to. The trail to see Aconcagua is a fairly easy walk with a little bit of an incline and the asado lunch was good - I was absolutely stuffed.

Experiencia negativa: The communication on WhatsApp was first class and I thank them deeply for this. However the the tour for me didn't deliver. Our guide lacked energy in my opinion he couldn't answer the one question I asked him which I ended up answering myself. The experience of the wineries and explanations varied greatly with the first one really standing out credit to the knowledge and storytelling. The others were fairly rushed and the restaurant we couldn't hear any of the super short and rushed explanations for the pairing. Thank you for all the comms an WhatsApp but this tour really didn't deliver and I have been on some great tours in the area Disappointing experience overall given the price paid

You can tell she loves her job and made our day great. She is a wine expert and her English is fantastic too. The ladies working at the office were amazing and super helpful too. And our driver (Nico?) as well! Really nice company to have a relaxing day with your only concern being to enjoy very nice wine and food!

Experiencia fantástica: Soledad and Mauricio picked us up at our hotel and took us to a ranch for a fun and relaxing horseback ride. They then drove us to Club Tapiz for an amazing lunch. The waitress there was fun and polite the whole time. I had a great experience with Soledad and Mauricio. They answered all our questions about the area and made sure we were safe, comfortable and having a good time.

Experiencia fantástica: My partner and I had an amazing time on our Uco Valley wine tour! Our guide, Gabriella, was friendly and knowledgeable. There were 8 people in our tour. We went to three different wineries, and had a total of 13 wine samples. The first two locations had snacks, while the premium lunch at the art gallery winery was incredible. There were excellent views at each stop as well. We would certainly recommend booking with this company.

Experiencia fantástica: Great tour! We took Malbec & Mountain and fully enjoyed it. It was the best excursion we’ve ever taken. Our driver was very helpful explaining everything. His English is perfect. We also enjoyed our experience in the two wineries we visited: Michelini ii Mufatto and Domain Bousquet. If we return to Mendoza, we’ll definitely book another tour with them.

Everyone involved spoke English and were extremely well informed and friendly. When I want to go on another tour, I wouldn't think of using any other company.

We loved all four wineries we visited (Familia Cassone being our undisputed favorite) - the individual winery tours, views, and wine were all phenomenal. Lastly, our tour guide Esteban was very knowledgeable about the wine of the region and the history of each of the wineries. He also took the time to connect with us which added a personal touch. Highly recommend the entire experience from beginning to end!

Experiencia fantástica: We joined the one day wine tour and visited four vineries. Three for tasting and one for lunch. One was very small, family owned (Mendel) and the other two have been of mid size (Casarena and (?)) . It was overall a great experience. Andrea, who guided us had a huge knowledge about the region, the history and the ecology of wine. She was a very insightful host and guide. The chosen vineyards have been very nice. Especially the first and second one. The third one was a bit passionless. The person who gave the wine tasting didnt explained much about the wines we tasted. There is room for improvement.

Experiencia fantástica: We did the full day wine tour of the Uco Valley and loved every minute. We went to 3 vineyards and had the most amazing lunch at the 3rd. Our first stop was at a family run vineyard called Familia Zaina and it was excellent. Our 2nd stop was at Bodega Corazon del Sur and the winery was beautiful. It included a tour of the vines and the processing procedure. We got to taste straight from the vat and the wines were all lovely however higher end prices. Our 3rd stop was at Claroscuro Bodega de Arte and again the wines were excellent and really well priced. The included 3 course lunch was amazing (best tomahawk steak I've ever had) and the artwork in the winery was quirky. It was such a full day as we were picked up at 8.10am and dropped off at 6pm. Such a great day and such good value for money.

Experiencia fantástica: Me encantó este tour! Empezamos temprano y todos los que íbamos nos sentíamos cansados. Karina y Nico fueron excelentes guías para hacer de este tour algo maravilloso. Desde la primera parada en un viñedo con mucha historia, a un segundo viñedo más contemporáneo y con una galería de arte y terminando el tour con un almuerzo de 4 tiempos en un viñedo con una vista espectacular. Experiencia fantástica: If you want to have the best of Mendoza, you need to hire Trout & Wine. Since the very beggining it's really easy to contact them via WhatsApp or Email, the comunication with the office is super fast and clear. I chose the Uco Valley region to visit, three wineries were included, lunch at the last one. The driver, the guides, the waiters, everyone was so nice. The choice of the wineries were on point. And the best meal i had was at Claroscuro, this is a boutique winery dedicated to art,4 course meal, but the main course y is a Tomahawk, i asked for medium rare, it came perfectly. Congrats to everyone behind this, you know what you are doing!

Experiencia positiva: We did the private tour Valle de Uco deluxe $260pp. I think this is expensive for what you get, particularly given that you have to pay in US dollars rather than ARS. The driver (Seba) and our guide (Flora) were fantastic and the car was very comfortable. We were picked up at 9:15am from our hotel in Lujan and drove for around 1 hour 15 minutes to our first winery, Bodega La Virgilia, where we had a private tour with three wines (one white, one rosé and one red). This experience was excellent and very high end. We then moved on to Bodega Piedra Negra where we had a group tour with two other couples and tasted four wines (one rosé, one white and two red). No water and a few breadsticks for accompaniment. Given that we had paid for a private wine tour, it felt slightly odd to be joining a group for this part of the trip. Finally, we then drove to Claroscuro where we had a four course tasting lunch with four wines (one white, two red and a rosé). The food was quite average and unfortunately our tomahawk steak was overcooked (our only overcooked steak for the entirety of our two week trip in Argentina!). We were then driven back to our hotel and arrived back just before 4pm. Having looked online, Bodega La Virgilia charges ARS$13,000pp or USD $14 and a five course lunch at Claroscuro (bearing in mind we only had four courses) with wine pairing costs ARS$25,000pp or USD $26. I am waiting for Piedra Negra to confirm the cost of the wine tour and tasting, but assume in the region of ARS$15,000pp or USD $16. The Trout and Wine website suggest that lunch will be at Bodega Monteviejo, or similar, which is more premium at ARS$50,000pp or USD $53, so our lunch was certainly not like for like and not premium. I understand that you are paying for the ease of someone arranging a tour for you, along with having a driver wait and take you between each of the vineyards. However, I have just costed the trip from our hotel to Bodega La Virgilia on Uber and the cost is ARS$18,000 or USD$19 and it is very easy to pre book (pre booking on Uber costs an additional ARS$1,000 or USD$1 and we have used this for our other days in Mendoza with no issues). You can walk between Bodega La Virgilia and Piedra Negra (Google maps says 25 minute walk) and Piedra Negra to Claroscuro is ARS$2,200 or USD$2.50. So all in all, I think you could do this trip yourself for USD $155 for two people, instead, we ended up paying $560 including a tip to the driver and guide. I would be happy to pay an additional $150 for the privilege, however, I just don’t think it was worth the additional USD $400.

Experiencia fantástica: Excelente tour. Recorrimos 4 bodegas, en todas nos dieron vinos muy ricos y con mucha variedad. El almuerzo fue excelente en una bodega con un espacio exclusivo para el tour y la chef presentando cada plato y maridaje. La guía muy amable y compartió datos sobre Mendoza, geografía e historia. Hice el tour en inglés porque estaba con una colega de habla inglesa y el nivel de inglés es excelente. La atención y comunicación con la agencia fue muy buena. Realmente recomendable experiencia!

They were accommodating, on time, good communicators and even on one tour our driver waited all day for us as we enjoyed the hot springs spa. Our guides were professional and knowledgeable, the stops were amazing (Aconcagua and Inca Bridge for the Andes and Familia Cassone, Norton, Alta Vista and one more for the wines) and all the food we had was incredible. If you're in Mendoza looking for tours, do not hesitate to book here.

La experiencia culmina con el almuerzo a la carta en Club Tapiz, con las sugerencias del maridaje con los diferentes platos. Mención especial para el guía Federico y el chofer Daniel que con su charla amena nos paseaba por las costumbres locales. Paseo muy recomendable.

Prior to our tour, the representatives were communicative and personable, instilling confidence in the schedule and professionalism of the group. The wineries selected showed many different personalities, and the guide ensured we were well attended to during our tour. I felt that it was overall a good value and would recommend this tour to anyone visiting Mendoza!

Experiencia negativa: Tour pelos Andes/Alta montanha - Guia e motorista cordiais e van confortável. O fato de ter poucas pessoas no tour facilita a dinâmica do passeio. O café fornecido é extremamente simples, vale pela possibilidade de utilizar o banheiro do local. O almoço é em um restaurante simples, mas satisfatório. As paisagens ao longo do passeio são deslumbrantes, embora seja um passeio cansativo por ficar tantas horas sentado na van. A nota baixa deve-se ao fato de ter sido informado que seria feita uma pequena caminhada até o lago Horcones, o que não ocorreu, sendo feito apenas uma parada no mirante onde todos os demais tours param. Um pouco decepcionante ficar tantas horas na van para apenas descer e tirar algumas fotos da paisagem. Segundo a guia, o acesso estava fechado, embora houvessem pessoas fazendo a trilha. Essa possibilidade de não ter acesso ao parque deveria ter sido informada previamente. Não vale o valor do passeio

Experiencia fantástica: My partner and I really enjoyed this wine tour. We were excited to meet other travelers on this tour, but it ended up just being the 2 of us (not something the tour can control). But Flor made it so much fun and it was pretty cool to have her all to ourselves. She’s so much fun! Communication and coordination was excellent. Our driver, Wally, was a terrific driver. Flor is extremely knowledgeable and passionate about wine and Mendoza. She taught us a lot. They will also help with shipping wine back home. They purposely selected wineries to avoid large crowds and we really enjoyed all 3 wineries. The gourmet lunch was amazing!! I highly recommend touring with Trout and Wine Tours.

Experiencia fantástica: There was nothing I didn't enjoy about this tour. Great communication during the booking process and pick up was as expected and on time. Flor introduced herself and Nico, our driver for the day. Travelling alone, I was instantly made feel welcome. Morning tea was lovely and just what we all needed to get to know each other on the tour better. The drive was spectacular and comfortable. Lunch was more than I expected with some lovely wines provided. Lots of laughs and a great time had by all. Flor's passion for her country made for an informative, interesting and fun day. In the safe hands of Nico our driver we saw so much. I would definitely recommend this tour and if I had more time would be taking more tours with Trout and Wine. Thank you Flor and Nico!

Experiencia positiva: The tour guide and driver were excellent: nice, accommodating, gracious, and full of knowledge. Since it was the off season (winter), the three of us had our own private tour. Our guides did an excellent job with what they were given. But for some reason the company decided to transport us in a pick-up truck rather than a van. I understand that there were only three of us, but it was so uncomfortable squeezing three of us in the back seat of a truck. It was hot and there was no wiggle room. That was the worst part of the whole experience because most of the trip takes place in the car. By the time we got back to the hotel, we were all physically in pain and grouchy. It would also have been nice to have been warned that the full walk/hike was not possible due to the snow. We paid for something and didn’t get the whole experience—and that’s fine, but warn us ahead of time. And finally, the meat served at the asado restaurant was not good; it was super dry. Thank god we had a bottle of wine to wash it down.

Experiencia fantástica: If you ever go to Mendoza do not hesitate to go with Trout and Wine tours. Even weeks before our trip Rocio was most helpful arranging our payment and deposit. My party of 6 enjoyed three tours, two (Lujan and Uco) wine and tasting tours (excellent lunch included) which were amazing and the Andes tour with breathtaking views. All the guides, especially Flor and Victor were very knowledgeable of the area, drivers were also good. Thank you all for making our Mendoza trip a most memorable one.

We had a last minute cancelation with another company and Charlie and gang went over and above getting us their tour to the Uco Valley. Our tour guide Tessa was exceptional. She was extremely knowledgeable about the wineries, wines and the region in general. An absolute rockstar of a tour guide! The wineries were fantastic and dinner was a delight. Can't thank you folks enough for facilitating a great day for all involved on the tour, great friends made. My only regret is I didn't have the time to go on the trout tour!! A big thank you to all the gang at Trout and Wine, highly recommended!!

Experiencia negativa: Poor value. Transactional service. Once you pay they don’t care. We did a tour with Flor or I should say it was supposed to be with Flor but at the end we only got a driver who was very nice but the guide didn’t even join. Only giving it 2 stars because of the driver otherwise would leave 1 star. We reached out to Flor ahead of our trip to Mendoza. It took her several days to get back to us. We weren’t sure she will even get to us so we started to look for wineries ourselves. When she sent us a message we said we would prefer to go to 3-4 wineries including 2 that we found ourselves. On thé day of the tour Flor never showed up it was just the driver who was very nice but basically we didn’t get the guided tour part at all. We just went to the wineries we already chose and paid a fortune for the ride. 320$ for a ride for 2 people. Next day we asked Flor for a small favor to help check if one of the wineries will allow us to go in without a reservation and she didn’t even respond. It would have been a short call but once she got the payment apparently the relationship is over. No money no help. Really disappointing. If you can just find a driver and go to the wineries yourself it would be a much better experience and value.

Experiencia fantástica: Our wine tour with Gabi and her driver was fantastic! Her English was perfect and she was consistently concerned with making sure we were well cared for. She was quite knowledgeable about the area and the local winery scene and we learned a lot. Lunch was excellent and the mix of different types of wineries we visited made the tour that much more interesting.

Experiencia fantástica: Excelente experiencia 360. Desde el minuto 0 que nos recogieron desde el punto de encuentro, Consuelo y Walter nos hicieron sentir en un ambiente amable y divertido. La experiencia es tal cual como nos la contaron y la contratamos. Primero, viajamos durante una hora, por los hermosos paisajes de Mendoza, hasta la primera parada en Uspallata, donde degustamos un riquisimo desayuno. Luego, nos dirigimos hasta el Parque Provincial Aconcagua, donde nos encontramos con un parque completamente limpio, ordenado y señalizado. La verdad que nos toco un dia hermoso, donde pudimos disfrutar de unas vistas geniales tanto del Tupungatito como del Aconcagua. A la vuelta, pudimos disfrutar de la fantástica historia del Puente del Inca y cerramos la experiencia con un exquisito asado en el restaurante El Rancho, en Uspallata. Gracias a los chicos por hacernos de ésta, una experiencia inolvidable. 1000/10.

Experiencia fantástica: We really enjoyed the Uco Valley wine tour. Denise was a fantastic guide, and it was clear she had prior experience working at wineries, which added helpful context as we drove between the wineries. Each of the three wineries was unique, so we learned and tasted different things throughout the day. Be prepared to drink a lot of wine and eat a big and delicious lunch!

Experiencia positiva: Die Tour war der hammer. Rating 5. Wir haben drei gute und sehr schöne Weingüter besucht. El Salentein ist ein Muss! Umwerfendes Konzept und Gebäude. Unsere Tourguide, Sergio, war ebenfalls Top! Sehr gutes Knowhow, sehr freundlich und sympathisch. Am Schluss kam leider eine unangenehme Überraschung. Daher Rating 3. Die Preise auf der Internetseite sind zwar in Dollar angegeben, aber man kann auch in pesos bezahlen. Dies haben wir gleich bei der Buchung mitgeteilt. Als wir am Schluss bezahlen wollten, berechneten sie uns einem überrissenen Preis in pesos. Sie wenden den Blue Dollar Kurs an. Dies wurde aber weder auf der Internetseite kommuniziert, noch bei der Buchung, als wir das angegeben haben. Bei sämtlichen Touren in ganz Argentinien wurde immer der offiziell Kurs angewendet. Als wir diesen Punkt freundlich mit der Agentur telefonisch besprechen wollten, wurden wir ziemlich grob und unfreundlich abserviert. Wir haben uns dann entschieden entgegenzukommen und haben bezahlt. Dennoch haben wir eine Email geschrieben um, erneut freundlich, auf diesen Sachverhalt hinzuweisen und empfohlen, dies offen zu kommunizieren. Darauf kam die grösste Überraschung. Der Inhaber antwortete sehr, sehr unfreundlich, aggressiv und hat und grob beleidigt! Echt zum kotzen!! Nur weil man die Deluxe Tour bucht (welche immerhin ziemlich teuer ist), heisst es nicht, dass ich abgezockt werden darf. Echt beschähmend! Daher unsere Empfehlung: Tour ist Top. Aber wenn ihr in pesos bezahlen wollt, dann klärt es unbedingt vorher ab. Es gibt einige andere Tour Veranstalter, mit der gleichen Tour und demselben Preis.

Experiencia fantástica: Blown away by the exceptional service of Trout and Wine from start to finish. They made our trip to Mendoza wineries so seamless. We booked a private tour for 2 days and they accommodated all our winery visit requests, they even helped me make dinner reservations outside of our tour days as we don’t speak spanish and found it difficult to contact certain places. The drivers were so friendly, spoke perfect English and drove brand new air conditioned vehicles. Special shout out to Ricky for being so helpful and on the ball throughout our trip, he’s a gentleman (we can’t remember the name of our first driver but we loved him too!!) We were also able to buy a travel box from them with insulation to carry our bottles of wine back to Canada safely. Also excellent value for money. Do yourself a favour and plan your trip with this company. Enjoy! VAMOS Argentina.

Experiencia positiva: Hicimos el tour en inglés por Lujan de Cuyo con un grupo reducido. Nos pasaron a buscar por el hostel donde estábamos quedándonos y luego fuimos a buscar al resto. En total eramos 8 personas y el grupo era muy agradable. Las bodegas elegidas muy lindas. La visita más linda a mi criterio fue Mendel. 10 puntos para Vicky! El almuerzo muy acertado, desde los platos hasta el lugar elegido. La vista muy muy linda! Puntos a mejorar según mi experiencia: Quizás estaría bueno o me hubiese gustado que en las degustaciones haya algo más para picar que solo galletitas de agua (bodegas Mendel y Terrazas de los Andes). No llevé mi botellita de agua ya que en la página aclaraba que habría agua a disposición en la combi pero esto no era así. En general fue una experiencia muy muy linda y sin dudas la repetiría!

Experiencia fantástica: I did two tours with Trout and Wine, detailed below. Both were great experience. Lujan de Cuyo wine tour, we had Ivan as our guide. His knowledge in wine and the wine history of Mendoza was impressive and added a lot of fun and colors to the tour. The wineries we visited were different styles, after four visits I didn’t feel repetitive or bored at all. Learned a lot more about wine. Aconcagua mountain tour with Ricardo. The scenery drive was amazing itself, Ricardo also told us a lot about the geo formation of the Andes and why the colors of the mountain were red, yellow, green, blue and black… lunch was at a small town, very Argentinian. Overall I feel the guides I was with, Ivan and Ricardo are truly passionate about letting people know more about their beautiful country, and they 100% did a great job.

We did four wineries, which were all very distinct and top-notch. The tastings were all extremely well prepared. The lunch was amazing. If you are in doubt of doing this trip, don't be.
