Experiencia fantástica: Great time floating the Limay in April! My wife and I did two guided days floating different sections of the river. The fishing was good and the guides were excellent. The gear was high quality and the guides were very prepared. Lunch was also amazing. Martin was very helpful and communicative through the whole booking process and was flexible with us when we requested a change based on weather. Five stars! We will be coming back for sure.

Experiencia fantástica: End of season fishing was below average but I had an amazing experience. Julian was fantastic - and I mean fantastic - as a teacher for TWO first time fly fishermen. He was infinitely patient with two complete beginners. After getting the hang of casting, my friend and I landed seven trout on the small side, which makes sense given the spooky nature of the trophy sized ones. It was lovely watching the kingfishers out fish us. Also, the lunch was amazing and very filling. Wear sunblock, a gaiter, and bring a hat. Definitely book at least 2 days in case one day is slow. I’d love to be back in the future, hopefully with more experience under my belt and better casting distance!

Experiencia fantástica: Martin runs a first class operation right from the get go. On planning the trip, he was extremely responsive and usually responded within the hour if not day on questions we had and what we wanted out of our trip. From the way he communicated, I knew he was running a tight operation. We booked 2 separate overnight trips with his company, one on the Collon Cora and one on the Limay. Two totally different rivers and glad we had the chance to experience both. The arrangements were just as advertised. Prompt pick up, professional guides, all the details thought of. The overnight trips were awesome. Rods and flies were included as well as expert guides and rowers for our boats. When we arrived at lunch, a table and chairs were quickly set up with delicious food and a bottle of Malbec with each lunch. When we arrived at camp each night, our tents with cots and sleeping bags were already set up, which allowed us time to relax. Food was incredible. We had french fries for dinner one night to accompany our steak!. We fished in March and mainly using streamers. The Collon Cora was beautiful and had plenty of aggressive trout to catch. Over the three days, we must have covered almost 30 miles of river. The Limay river was absolutely gorgeous. We floated through the amphitheater section and with the changing leaves, the scenery was breathtaking with gin clear water. The fishing was slower, but we caught several fish of a lifetime for our family. We don't usually return to a location just because there are so many other places to see, but we are seriously considering returning to Bariloche to fish with Martin and his crew again a following year. I wouldn't hesitate to book with him again. Well done to you and your crew, Martin.

Experiencia fantástica: atagonia and again it was a great success. I arrived with high expectations, having had three previous trips with excellent guiding, good hospitality and amazing fishing. When I say amazing fishing, I mean that on each of these trips (typically 5 days each trip) I took between 50 and 85 (maximum) trout, with a mixture of rainbows (mostly) and browns. My biggest fish have come from the Limay river, up to 6 &1/2 pounds with a few more in the 4 to 6 pound range, the most prolific fishing has been on the Manso river (typically smaller fish but very strong fish). Having fished a lot in various counties i know that the guide and the outfitter company make up at least half of your success and I have no hesitation in recommending Outfitters Patagonia. Their back office admin is very efficient, the kit supplied is always top quality (Orvis) and the guides work hard for you, never hesitating to change a fly if things ho quiet and rowing almost all day against the fast current in these two rivers. What a great experience; i give them 10/10!

Experiencia fantástica: I interviewed a number of people in planning this 5 day fishing trip for me and my two sons, ages 20 and 24. They are both experienced fly-fishermen. We ended up choosing to do 3 days on a camping and fishing trip on the Collon Cura river and then spent the final two days doing a trips on the Limay, staying at a hotel in Bariloche. This turned out to be a wonderful trip for us. For starters, the first three days saw us catch about 100 fish on the fly. See the pictures for a few of them. In addition to the breathtaking scenery, and the great weather, our guides were truly world class and the camp and support team were fantastic. Our guides Juan and German put us on fish all day long as they worked the river tirelessly. The end of each day had us pulling into a camp that was set up with drinks and appetizers that preceded a delicious grilled meal served with a bottle or two of a Malbec. We might have had a bottle at lunch also. There were no bad wines. Not sure I had a subpar bottle in my time in Argentina. Thank you for the camp set up, Renzo and Gusti! My boys said they felt like princes in a scene in the Game of Thrones. But back to the fishing - definitely worth the trip. I have done a number of trips to Alaska and Canada and the Bahamas. This was as well run and productive as any of them. We spent the last two days chasing the trophies on the Limay, which is one of the prettiest rivers I have had the pleasure of fishing. We had some good follows by some big fish but didn’t connect. Thank you for the guiding there Juan and Sebastian. We were a little early in terms of the migration on March 19 and 20. I would look to land solidly in the last week of March or into April if you are targeting the trophy browns. But as you can see we did fine on the Cullen Cura. I would highly advise doing the camping if you are able. I would be happy to connect with you by phone through Martin if you have specific questions about either trip or your stay in Bariloche, which is spectacular on its own. And a last shout out to Martin. Martin was always available and always followed through on everything he said he would do. Experiencia fantástica: I did two separate trips with Outfitter’s Patagonia and both were excellent. We fished the Collon Cura for four days and really enjoyed the combined fishing and camping experience. We caught lots of fish ( rainbow, brown and even a few perch). Great guides and comfortable cots and tents for overnight. The food and wine were delicious. I also booked a one day fishing trip on the Lemay and our guide brought rods for streaming and nymphing. I had 4 guides in total and all were so friendly and knowledgeable. No tangled line or missing fly was ever a problem. We had a variety of experience levels with fly fishing and the guides made it work for all of us, and were very pleasant and helpful the whole time. Martin was incredibly helpful before the trip answering all our questions (of which there were many)). He was also very pleasant and helpful post trip. I am already planning our trip back and would highly recommend this outfitter!

Experiencia fantástica: My wife and I did 2 full days fishing with Martin and his crew. We had an AMAZING time and were able to enjoy the beauty of TWO great rivers, and caught some great fish. Trip details below: Day 1: Rio Manso We fished with guide Herman on a cataraft. Put in at Lago Steffen, and floated to the convergence with Rio Villegas. This river is gorgeous, with blue green water lined with Coihes, Lengas, and Cypress trees. This mountain river starts out slow with a few riffles, and then picks up speed in the last mile or so. We fished streamers; I'm not an expert but Herman gave me some great tips, and by the end of the day, my cast and strip had improved 10-times. Even with sub-par casting, I landed a monster brown within the first hour of fishing, and continued to catch smaller, but still great rainbows and browns throughout the day. Lunch was a grass-fed Argentine ribeye with a nice salad, and a wonderful bottle of Malbec. I've never eaten so good on the river. Day 2: Rio Limay, section 2 We fished this desert river with guide Lucas in a drift boat, and while we didn't think it could compete with Manso, we were mistaken. Thanks to the improved cast and strip I learned on Manso, we had hooked a nice rainbow within the first 30-minutes of our float on the Limay. While the fishing was a bit more challenging, the fish we caught were high quality, and we landed a monster 5-lb rainbow at the very end of the day...what a way to end a fishing trip! I must add that Lucas took the time to teach my wife a proper fly cast, and she made great strides and learned a ton thanks to his skill and patience. Lunch was Chicken and cream sauce with a cold cooked vegetable salad and....you guessed it, Malbec! Can't get enough personally. At the end of the day, I can't tell which river I liked better. They were both amazing, and beautiful in different way. If you have the opportunity, you should fish them both. Martin and his team are absolutely the best. I've fished with guides all over the world and these guys gave us the best experience yet.

Experiencia fantástica: What an amazing fishing trip!! I spent three days with German, Lukas and Sebastian fishing some of the most pristine waters in the world. The scenery was incredible, the rivers were crystal clear and we managed to catch a great array of rainbow, brown and brook trout!! The guides are incredibly friendly and professional and I learned several new skills working with them. In addition to great fishing, the meals prepared by the guides along the way were by far the best I have ever had on a fishing trip - one lunch included phenomenal Argentinian steak grilled on a picturesque river bank with a great bottle of wine! Beyond the great days fishing, Martin is one of the easiest people to plan a fishing trip with. He was extraordinarily responsive, sometimes responding to my emails within minutes of me hitting send. He understood exactly what I wanted to achieve and put together an itinerary that included a great combination of different fly fishing experiences in a relatively short period of time.

We came from Salt Lake City, Utah and were joined by our brother-in-law from England for a day of fishing on beautiful Lago Moreno on 14 October, 2022. We had previously used OP in 2015 and 2016 for two-day trips on local rivers and had a wonderful time. All our trips were expertly arranged and organized by the owner, Martin Freedman. Our guide for our most recent trip, Juan Cruz Montañez, was terrific and worked hard to help insure we caught fish and had a great time. He is also a skilled instructor and helped us to significantly improve our casting technique. The lake and surrounding mountains are spectacular, the fishing was excellent as was the wine and steak for lunch. Outfitters Patagonia is the best!

Our trip in Argentina didn't overlap with open fishing season on the rivers, so we did a 1-day outing on Lago Moreno. The weather was up-and-down on the day (wind, rain, snow, and a little sun!) but we were happy for the chance to fish in Patagonia. Not being experienced for trout in lakes, German quickly got us up to speed on the technique and then put us on the fish and we enjoyed big rainbows and a few brook trout throughout the day. The lunch was also impressive, and honestly, the best steaks we had in 4 weeks in Argentina. A blast! A great outfitter I'd recommend to anyone. Our next trip to Patagonia will definitely need to be during the true fishing season.
